Kat Houghton explores the liminal spaces between Western Psychology, Celtic Mythology and animism. She is a native British oral storyteller who weaves tales from the Celtic lands with ritual and personal myth making. She hosts the podcast Celtic Medicine Stories to bring these old stories to new audiences. Her Substack publication - Adventures in the Otherworld - explores the liminal spaces between humans and the Other through science and mythology.
Kat is a Wilderness Rites of Passage guide with a PhD in Psychology and certificates in eco-therapy, hypnotherapy and transformational coaching. She guides an 8-month women's rites of passage program - The Seasons of Womanhood. And ancestral connection quests in Scotland.
Raised in the borderlands of northern England and southern Scotland Kat is now rooting into the ancient mountains of the Southern Appalachians in North Carolina where she co-stewards a forest farm with her husband, focused on mushrooms and woodland medicinals.
